Thaps Mchacho, born Ngaletsang Daniel Mokgola,(Thaps9406) is a Limpopo-based Lekompo artist dedicated to using music to celebrate and build the Lekompo culture. Starting his musical journey in 2010, Thaps Mchacho has developed his own identity within the Lekompo movement. His music reflects the energy, culture and creativity of Limpopo while connecting with listeners through powerful local sounds and storytelling. One of his standout songs is “Ke Boile Ka Maatla.” He has also collaborated with artists including Natiey Lepaka, Jento Mochacho and Osama Mchacho, expanding his presence within the Lekompo community. Thaps Mchacho credits Nelly Master Beat as an important inspiration in his musical journey. His biggest ambition is simple but powerful: to build and strengthen Lekompo culture, helping the genre reach more people while creating opportunities for artists from Limpopo. With years of experience, collaborations and recognition—including a Spotify Award—Thaps Mchacho continues to push his sound forward and represent the culture that inspires him.
