Biography & Metadata
Nadia Ismail (born 1999) is a British pianist, composer, flautist, and arranger from the West Midlands, England. Her music is story-driven and emotion-led, shaped by lived experience and personal reflection. She released her debut album Chords Over Complexity in 2021; a collection of solo piano works written across several years, reflecting the emotions and transitions that shaped her early compositional life from university through to flight school. This was followed by a series of singles marking distinct chapters in her artistic journey: Relative Bearings (2022), inspired by flight training; Bisous (2023); and Bisous (Orchestral Version) (2024), which expanded the original work through richer instrumentation. In 2026, she released her second album, the space between departures, exploring themes of connection, doubt, waiting, and transformation through nine reflective pieces shaped by moments of transition and change. Nadia has been featured multiple times on BBC Introducing West Midlands and on BBC Sounds playlists, including The Sleeping Forecast. In 2025, she appeared on The Piano Series 3 Episode 5, broadcast on Channel 4, performing Ascending Darkness at Heathrow Terminal 5. Alongside her work as a composer, Nadia is also a commercial pilot. Music is how she processes experience, translating emotion and memory into sound.
