Biography & Metadata
Ocean LeClair is a London-based starlet and songbird, presenting us with an impressive catalogue of music which ranges from 60s kitsch pop (diary entries about groupie life and Beach Boys concerts) to something dark and existential (poems whispered to Leonard Cohen on a harvest moon). Ocean released “Cool Kids”, a retro-pop song for teenage girls who hate summer, followed by her space ballad “Beam Me Into Space." These songs are the first from her recent collaborations with producer and songwriter Patrick James Fitzroy (Sorry, PVA, Katy J. Pearson). With producer Jules Apollinaire (Suki Waterhouse, Remy Bond) at the helm of her “Fruit on a Grave” EP, Ocean reveals her art in turning moments of heartbreak into shimmering pop songs, something she calls “alchemising the shit out of life.” Since her debut, Ocean has caught the attention of tastemakers and fans, becoming the cover artist for Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist and receiving widespread editorial support across the platform. She’s been spotlighted by Emily Pilbeam and Jess Iszatt on BBC Introducing London and named one of Notion Magazine’s Artists to Watch in 2024. Ocean featured at Rough Trade East's On the Rise event and has, since then, performed alongside Suki Waterhouse, Findlay, CATTY, TTRRUUCES, Alfreda, and Sofia and the Antoinettes.
