Biography & Metadata

DIA is the voice of modern Bulgarian folklore, an artist who bridges ancient tradition with a contemporary global sound. With a strong artistic identity and a distinctive presence, she has established herself as one of the most compelling modern ambassadors of Bulgarian culture on the international stage. DIA was a supporting artist at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Bulgaria and has also performed as a guest artist at the European Parliament, representing Bulgaria. Her career includes appearances at major folklore and cultural events such as the Festival of the Traditional Costume in Zheravna and the international festival SURVA. She is a gold medalist at the Balkan Folklore Championship and a silver medalist at the World Folklore Championship. DIA’s music is listened to across three continents, supported by a dedicated international audience, including a strong fan base in China. Her work has attracted attention beyond traditional folklore circles. Grimes gave DIA a social media shout-out, while VICE Italy described her as “a goddess from the other side of Europe.” Media and cultural platforms often refer to DIA as a young cultural ambassador of Bulgarian folklore worldwide.
