Ayla Nereo

Ayla Nereo is a composer, singer, dancer, and filmmaker from the mountains of northeastern California. Her music weaves vocal looping, poetry, electronic production, folk, and ceremonial sound — but it is her voice that carries the transmission, with an uncanny ability to disarm and crack open the heart. She has released 8 solo albums and collaborated with artists including The Polish Ambassador (Wildlight), Rising Appalachia, Mr Lif, and Clozee, and she is one-fifth of the folk-supergroup Starling Arrow. Her music has reached millions of listeners worldwide. Ayla is currently releasing two albums as alternating singles — REIMAGINATION, her most beloved songs reborn as organic house and dance music, and RECALIBRATION, wordless ambient vocal meditations made for stillness. Movement and rest, as one complete cycle. Her larger work, SOVEREIGN KIN — a four-album elemental saga — began with ‘Book I: The Spark’ in 2023.
