Marc Roussel

Marc Roussel is an instrumental progressive rock guitarist and composer whose music blends melodic guitar, atmospheric soundscapes, progressive structures, and heavier textures. His musical journey began at 14, when he started playing guitar in high school with his teacher, Micheline. He later took private lessons with a jazz guitarist while immersing himself in progressive rock and melodic guitar music. By 16, Marc had begun composing his own music, discovering early on how guitar, melody, atmosphere, and structure could tell stories without words. Over the years, he performed with various bands for events while continuing to develop his musicianship and his own compositions. He also became a self-taught audio engineer, learning the recording and production side of music and developing the ability to shape his own sound from performance through final production. Although composition had been part of his life since his teenage years, at 38 Marc made a serious commitment to his own music, dedicating himself to developing his compositions and artistic identity. Today, Marc creates instrumental music centered on storytelling, combining expressive guitar playing, melodic themes, evolving arrangements, atmospheric textures, and dynamic passages that move between light and darkness. His latest release, *Stories We Don't Tell*, continues this musical journey — an exploration of emotion, atmosphere, and personal storytelling through instrumental progressive rock.
