Shehan Galahitiyawa

Shehan Galahitiyawa started working as a lyrics composer in the year 2000. His first hit was “Jeewithe Mal Ape Amma Inna Kal” that was composed in 2000 for the Sunflower band. He has done more than 4000 lyrical work in the time being. Shehan Galahitiyawa has shown interest in doing TV commercials, Radio jingles, band songs, solos, and duets. Prathihari, Sandanari, Sharadha, Kailashini, Madhurabhani, Mai Mal, Ehema baluwama, Amathak Wee noya are some of his most famous work. In the year 2024 , he composed 3 songs for the movie “ Neera” which is still being loved by many fans up to date. Shehan Galahitiyawa has composed 50 movies songs and more than 300 Teledrama songs. Shehan Galahitiyawa won an award for “Hanthana Nimnada” song from the University of Peradeniya in the year 2017. He was awarded by Derana Lux Awarding Ceremony for the most popular song in 2023 for the song “ Sewwandi Paya” . Again in the year 2024 he was awarded with the most popular song “Mai Mal” by Derana. He has worked with many loved artists and bands such as, The sunflower, Galaxies, Purple Range, Sakura Range, Seeduwa Sakura, Bathiya And Santhush, Chinthy, Chamara Weerasinghe, Damith Asanka, Sashika Nisansala, Raini , Ashanthi, Iraj, Sanka Dineth, Asanka Priyamantha Peries, Lakshman Hilmi, Bachi Susan, Yasas Madagedara, Ranidu , Supun Perera, Sanjula Hemala and many more. Shehan Galahitiyawa has been actively working in the industry for more than 26 years as a lyric composer.
