Musa Shongwe, known professionally as Mabhestro, is a South African DJ and record producer hailing from Devland, Soweto. A rising force in the Amapiano scene, Mabhestro blends smooth melodies, heavy log drums, and dynamic live mixing into a signature sound that bridges soulful keys with high-energy club anthems. Starting his journey behind the decks in 2019, Mabhestro honed his production skills using FL Studio, drawing deep inspiration from heavyweights like Ladi Adiosoul, Kabza De Small, and De Mthuda. His early mix series—including the 'Amapiano Essentials' line and 'Audible Sessions'—quickly earned him a loyal following across Johannesburg's nightlife and digital platforms. Since stepping into original production, Mabhestro has delivered standout tracks like "Gijimisa" (2023), the 'Amapiano Essentials EP' (2025), and 2026 singles "Why" and "Izolo". Beyond the studio, he remains an active figure in Soweto’s music ecosystem, headlining venues and curating local event showcases.
