Biography & Metadata
Bassist and composer Joan Torres has led the Fusion ensemble All Is Fused since 2011. With five albums released to date, multiple awards and nominations, as well as features in major publications such as The Huffington Post, the ensemble has been described as going "far beyond complex musical ideas managing to weave in a true sonic narrative" in their music (Music News 2016). Throughout several releases they have appealed to genre and non-genre fans alike. Joan Torres's All Is Fused released their debut album, Before, from Puerto Rico in May of 2012, managing to reach an international audience and even gaining them their first two nominations in the Annual Independent Music Awards (IMA) in 2013. For their third and fourth albums they recorded at the historic and influential Different Fur Studios in San Francisco, California. Grammy winner Dave Darlington mixed and mastered both albums. Four albums have received IMA nominations with Of The Musical (2016) receiving three nominations including a Best Jazz Producer for Joan Torres and Revolution (2019) receiving four. The Beginning (2014) won the Vox Pop award in 2016 and Revolution won Best Fusion Album in 2020. All Is Fused has performed in one of Puerto Rico's biggest festivals, “Ventana al Jazz” (2014), at venues such as the SFJAZZ Center (2018), shared the stage with performers such as Michael Manring, Felix Martin and have collaborated with artists such as Paoli Mejias, Bubby Lewis, and Elana Hedrych.
