Da Mabusa

Da Mabusa, born Johan Sifiso Sithebe, is a multi-platinum South African singer, songwriter, and independent record label owner from KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga. Blending Afro-pop, Amapiano, and gospel influences, his music is driven by powerful vocals, emotional storytelling, and a sound that connects traditional African roots with modern global production. He began his journey in 2007 in a clap and tap choir, shaping his vocal foundation and musical identity. In 2022, he broke through with “Umama Owangizalayo,” a multi-gold hit that introduced him to a wider audience. He followed this success with his debut EP Izipho, showcasing his versatility across Afro-pop and Amapiano sounds. Da Mabusa has since delivered platinum-selling releases, including “Umama Owangizalayo 2.0 (Piano Remix)” and “Ithuba,” establishing himself as a leading independent artist in South Africa. He has collaborated with artists such as Shebeshxt, Mduduzi Ncube, and Lungelo Hlongwane, as well as international acts Nutty O and Rayvanny.
