Biography & Metadata
Amália Leandro has been a DJ, spoken word artist for over two decades, spinning in North America, Europe, Central America and the Caribbean. Her passion for house music started in her hometown Toronto, where her style has been influenced from, along with living in NYC, Europe, and her years formerly based in Miami. After playing the main clubs, and after hours in Miami during the early 2000’s she was on the cover of The Miami New Times, May 6-12 2004, and she was featured in Ocean Drive Magazine October 2004, Beach Patrol section as one of “The People Who Make Miami”. Amália’s sets range from a private party, club or after hours, and depending on the situation, are a blend of incorporating classic/90’s house roots, deep house, minimal, groovy tech house, and techno. Some of her early releases include collaborations with House Music legends like Sandy Rivera and Angel Moraes. Her vocals have been recently heard on tracks like EL DIVINE, Paul Stickman feat Amália Leandro, on Nervous Records, The Music Feat Amália by Vaxx, Demuir feat Amalia Leandro - Espiritual, on Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory, and on Blu Music, Nightshade by Sydney Blu. Amália has played alongside some of the biggest names in electronic music such as Francesca Lombardo, Gene Farris, Hatiras, Sydney Blu, Raffa Barrios, Yousef, Joeski, Victor Calderone, Peter Rauhofer, Junior Vasquez, Sandra Collins, DJ Rap, and Ralph Falcon.
