Biography & Metadata

Ogives Big Band is a riff powerhouse from Bristol, UK. Defying convention with a sound that is monstrously heavy, psychedelic & cerebral. This approach was defined by the first 2 EPs and their 2024 debut album, ‘Boisterous Love’, which showcased a move into whole new musical territories of savage, angular, doom laden sludge, progressive metal and psychedelic stoner rock. Their most recent material is 4 brand new beefed up tracks, which takes these established elements and twists them into a sound that’s weightier, and more streamlined. The crushing riffs are still at the centre, and the hooky refrains remain, only now they’ve been refined and honed into a more direct and pummeling proposition. These 4 new tracks are Ogives Big Band’s contribution to their new split release with Pohl, recorded by James King at Joe’s Garage, mixed by Corey Carruthers-Bell at Tree Angle Studios & mastered by Stephen Kerrison. Ogives Big Band will be joining Pohl for a European tour in October 2026.
