Biography & Metadata
As a distinctive voice in contemporary electronic music, multi-instrumentalist Peter Zirbs has released music under various pseudonyms, produced artists and remixes, and composed for award-winning experimental films. His work moves fluidly between synth-pop, ambient, minimal, and experimental sound, dissolving genre boundaries along the way. He stepped into the spotlight with his acclaimed debut album What If We Don’t Exist? (2018), which drew comparisons to David Bowie’s Low from a US music critic and included the indie hit “Let’s Fail.” Following collaborations including the indie hit “Locked In” with former Archive frontman Craig Walker and the instrumental EP Splinters (2021), Zirbs released his second album Melancholia Beach in 2024 - a darker, introspective record exploring themes of identity, aging, and emotional uncertainty. With new material unfolding and a forthcoming album slated for 2027, Zirbs continues to refine his distinctive sonic language.
