Planky

Planky is a UK hip hop producer, DJ and turntablist from Hampshire, South England, known for blending raw boom bap energy with deep funk, soul and golden-era hip hop influences. Originally emerging through the UK garage scene as part of L.T.K (Looney Toon Kru), he performed across Southern England alongside legendary names including The Dreem Teem, Pied Piper & The Masters Of Ceremony and DJ Luck & MC Neat before fully turning his focus toward hip hop production. Inspired by artists such as The Wu-Tang Clan, Jurassic 5, J Dilla, DJ Premier and Jazzy Jeff, Planky has developed a signature sound built around hard drums, soulful samples, sharp cuts and funk-heavy grooves. Funk remains at the centre of everything he creates, both as a producer and DJ. Over the years, Planky has gained strong support from BBC Introducing as well as backing from The Allergies across their podcast and radio shows. Recent releases include Take It Back featuring legendary Jurassic 5 member Akil the MC, alongside standout collaborations including Mic Check featuring Dynamite MC and Harry Shotta, Soul Plane featuring Harry Shotta, Dynamite MC and P4VAN, plus Do My Ting featuring Harry Shotta and Carasel. He also collaborated with 2nd Generation Wu on Rescue Me, featuring iNTeLL and PXWER — sons of U-God and Method Man
