Almost Only

Bonding over music, heart breaks, grief and growing old, three childhood friends from Chicago; Brian Joyce, Matthew Cortese, and Mathew Brendemuehl came together to form Almost Only. The idea for the band originated in 2018 when Cortese showed Joyce his poetry and a guitar riff, and Joyce adding his instrumental talents to complete the first half of “Where Did You Run To?” Joyce, knowing Brendemuehl since grade school, played together in the band Makeshift in the early 2010s and released the Failure at its Finest EP. Joyce knew he would be a welcome addition to round out the trio to provide his smooth, unique, and powerful vocals. Heavily inspired by Senses Fail , blink-182 , Real Friends and Knuckle Puck , Almost Only shows you what it is to still be Emo after turning 30 years old.
