Beyond the Seasons

"Beyond the Seasons" is a side project by Jon Magnusson that blends the complex rhythms of jazz with the experimental vibes of progressive and psychedelic rock, creating a sound that's both nostalgic and refreshingly innovative. Drawing inspiration from jazz legends such as Herbie Hancock, Wes Montgomery, Chick Corea, and Bill Evans, the project also pays homage to the contemporary jazz scene, taking cues from modern icons like Esbjörn Svensson Trio, Tom Misch, Tonbruket, and GoGo Penguin. This eclectic mix of influences allows "Beyond the Seasons" to traverse musical landscapes that are rich in texture and depth, offering listeners a unique auditory experience that defies conventional genre boundaries. Each composition serves as a testament to Magnusson's versatility as a musician and his ability to seamlessly integrate the intricate improvisations of jazz with the bold, experimental essence of rock. "Beyond the Seasons" is not just music; it's a journey through the evolving expressions of jazz and rock, inviting listeners to explore new horizons beyond the traditional seasons of musical genres.
