Biography & Metadata

Phats and Small are best known for their global hit, Turn Around (Hey What's Wrong With You). Formed in 1998 by Jason Phats and Russell Smalll. They went on to amass sales of over 5 million, winning multiple awards and nominations including TMF Award, RSH Award, 2 German Dance Awards, Brit Award, Muzik/Sony Ericsson, 2 Capital Radio awards and 2 Mobo awards. In 1999 they topped the European airplay charts with 3 top 10 Singles, Turn Around, Feel Good & Tonite, touring the globe DJing at Cocoon, Berlin Love Parade, Nature One, Ministry of Sound, Home, Fabric and The Royal Albert Hall. They worked with Earth, Wind & Fire, Arthur Baker, Jean-Michel Jarre, Simply Red & Lighthouse Family. In 2006 Russell left the band. Jason started producing at 14 and started DJing when he was 18, with help from the legendary Carl Cox. He produced as The Delorme working with Full Intention, Kathy Brown, CeCe Peniston. In 1996 he started his DJ Phats project and Afrocuts label receiving huge support from Daft Punk, Norman Cook, Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, Ashley Beedle & DJ Sneak & went on to remix Todd Terry, The Peech Boys, Tom Browne, Wild Cherry & George Benson. In 2015 the guys signed to Spinnin Records & Armin van Buuren's label Armada Music. Their recent remix of Lenny Fontana & Alison Limerick's Bye Bye has taken clubs by storm along with their Shakeable Germ Orbital Footsie D Double E collaboration. A Remix of Victor Simonelli Toney Lee and Status IV is due in 2020.
