CICI Zhu

Cici Zhu is known for her unique sound, fusing contemporary culture with the ancient Chinese guzheng (a two-thousand-year-old string instrument). Born in Shanghai, she is the daughter of a pioneering guzheng player in China, whose influence deeply shaped her musical foundation and artistic identity. She moved to London with her mother in late childhood and grew up in Camden, a cultural melting pot that exposed her to experimental and cutting-edge music. Inspired by the energy around her, she began writing and producing her own work, exploring and blending a wide range of musical styles. After starting her music journey in London, Cici traveled the world, living in Shanghai, Hong Kong, New York, Chicago, Seattle, Nassau Bahamas, and Taipei, with each city adding new layers to her perspective and artistry. Shaped by this cross-continental upbringing, and carrying those influences wherever she goes, Cici Zhu rises as a hip-hop and electronic fusion artist carving her own path through sound. A one-girl band rooted in Chinese tradition with a pulse tuned to global street culture, she blends cinematic energy, martial-arts intensity, and modern grit into a signature style.
