Biography & Metadata

Mexican Institute of Sound released his debut album Méjico Máxico in 2006. Since then, M.I.S. has released 5 albums: Piñata (2008), Soy Sauce (2010) Poitico (2012) and Disco Popular (2017). His latest is called Distrito Federal (2021) and features collaborations with: Dan The Automator (Gorillaz) a Graham Coxon (Blur), Duckwrth, BIA, & Cuco. His work as producer has landed him 1 Grammy and 8 Latin Grammy nominations. Some of the credits of Camilo as producer includes Band of Horses, Santa Fe Klan, Flor de Toloache, Norah Jones & Lila Downs. He was the musical consultant and Incidental music responsible for Pixar’s Coco (where he even had a cameo!). He has done music for film and tv such as: Netflix Narcos Mexico, Y Tu Mama Tambien, TNT´s Bronco among others. He has collaborated with artists including Graham Coxon, Bonde do Rolé, Sly & Robbie, Toots and the Maytails, Gogol Bordello, Tricky, Tom Tom Club. He hosts his own radio station on the best selling game of all times, Grand Theft Auto V. M.I.S has remixed Beck, Run the Jewels, Morrissey, Placebo, Interpol, Beastie Boys, Madness, Tony Allen among many others.
