Plamen Dereu

Plamen Dereu is a Dutch singer-songwriter and music producer with Bulgarian roots. Music has always been at the heart of his journey, shaping his path from an early age. As a teenager, he begins exploring his creative side through theater and dance, laying the foundation for his future in the arts. In his early twenties, a life-changing car accident becomes a turning point for Plamen. After recovering, he decides to fully embrace his passion for music and begins taking vocal lessons. Two years later, in 2009, he earns a spot as one of the finalists on Music Idol in Bulgaria. But that is just the beginning. Following the show, he moves to the Netherlands, where he starts writing and producing his first songs, taking his career to the next level. “As a kid, I dreamed of becoming a singer or a spaceman. I’ve always been curious about the forces that shape our world and how it all connects. Spoiler: it’s probably money (thanks, Cabaret). But for me, it’s music that makes it all go round.”
