New American Hustle

New American Hustle was the alter ego of studio artist Ian Smith, former guitarist of Zero Frequency. Reemerging with a bold vision, New American Hustle crafted a diverse and genre-blending catalog. Known for prolific output, anonymous collaborators and a restless spirit, the project expressed a true DIY attitude. After leaving Zero Frequency, Smith was eager to move in a different direction, working with new vocalists and producers. New American Hustle recorded in many styles, including art rock, heavy metal, electronic and trip-hop - similar to King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Smith eventually morphed the project into Zia Starlust and later Panavision Smile.
