Soulpersona

Soulpersona is a British producer, composer, remixer and arranger whose music fuses soul, jazz-funk, rare groove and disco with the warmth and musicality of the 1970s and 80s. Inspired by Donald Byrd, Freddie Hubbard, Roy Ayers, CTI, Kudu and British library music, he creates records that honour those influences while sounding unmistakably his own. With a recording career spanning more than two decades, Soulpersona has built a catalogue defined by lush arrangements, deep grooves and timeless songwriting. His latest project, Aurora, with British trumpeter Bryan Corbett, explores cinematic jazz-funk, rare groove and soul through eleven horn-led instrumentals. Alongside his own releases, Soulpersona has collaborated with Princess Freesia, Carl Hudson, Tanya Nolan, Jody Watley and Charlie Wilson, earning a reputation for soulful productions that combine classic musicianship with modern production. Away from the studio, Soulpersona is also the author of How Not To Be A Music Producer, a darkly comic fictional memoir inspired by the realities, near-misses and unexpected moments behind a lifetime in music.
