Solomon Ray

Solomon Ray is the gospel-soul moniker of songwriter, producer, and creative director Christopher Townsend. Through Solomon Ray, Townsend blends the warmth, conviction, and spirit of Southern soul music with modern production, creating songs rooted in testimony, scripture, and the traditions of gospel. Featuring stirring vocals, Hammond organ, bass, horns, tambourine, and blues guitar, Solomon Ray carries the unmistakable feeling of Sunday morning into a new generation. Solomon Ray's breakthrough single, "Find Your Rest," shook the industry in late 2025, becoming his first No. 1 on Billboard's Gospel Digital Song Sales chart. The following month, "Come To Me" also reached No. 1, cementing Solomon Ray's early success. With more than 100 million streams globally, Solomon Ray has grown into a worldwide gospel success. Every Solomon Ray release is written, produced, and creatively directed by Townsend. As part of his creative process, he leverages Suno alongside his songwriting, production, and artistic direction to transform original ideas into powerful gospel records. Rather than replacing human creativity, AI serves as another instrument—expanding what's possible while keeping the message, vision, and creative leadership firmly human. Built on the belief that technology should reinforce testimony rather than replace it, Solomon Ray creates powerful music that points people back to God while embracing innovative tools for a new era.
