Biography & Metadata
Fueled by the fire of a cultural revolution, R-Mean speaks the bottom of his heart from the top of his lungs, representing the “Voice of the Voiceless” like none other. Born to an Armenian mother and Iranian father, R-Mean was born in Los Angeles but raised in The Netherlands until the age of 18, when he returned to LA to pursue his music career. Known for his powerful lyricism and commanding presence, R-Mean has collaborated with some of Hip-Hop’s most legendary names, including Nas (“Candle of the Devil”), Wu-Tang Clan, and B-Real from Cypress Hill, as well as modern heavy-hitters like Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, and Quavo. His song Open Wounds turned into a global movement raising awareness about the Armenian Genocide of 1915, further cementing his place as a cultural voice and pioneer for his people. While relentlessly building his music career, he also graduated from UCLA before earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy—a reflection of the discipline, resilience, and ambition that define his journey. Recent releases include the album MEAN, produced entirely by the legendary Scott Storch (15+ million streams and counting), along with the collaborative project The Warning with Berner. With new music and exciting collaborations on the horizon, R-Mean continues to embody what it means to chase your dreams relentlessly, believe in yourself, and rise above every obstacle.
