Biography & Metadata

Four years after the release of his last multi-platinum and gold-certified album, Michael Patrick Kelly is back with his sixth studio record TRACES – opening a brand-new Era. At its core lies a theme that has long fueled his most powerful songs: humanity. And the symbolic album title couldn’t be more fitting, since few artists have left such a lasting impact on European music history as Michael Patrick Kelly. His previous album alone delivered five consecutive Top 5 radio hits, amassed over 400 million streams and saw him perform live to over half a million fans. Michael Patrick Kelly is known for songs with substance – uplifting yet never naive, rooted in real life stories, written to move forward rather than drift off into escapism. It’s this gift that has made his musical comebacks some of the most anticipated moments in pop over the decades. The theme of TRACES was sparked by a deeply personal moment. On the day his father, Dan Kelly, passed away, he was wearing a T-shirt that read: “Many people walk into your life, but only a few leave traces” Michael Patrick recalls: “I asked myself, what traces have others left in my life, and what kind of traces do I want to leave in the lives of others?” His new songs offer some answers.
