DJ Slay

Steve Brown, or Dj Slay is a happy hardcore Dj, who has been playing all forms of happy hardcore since around 1996. First getting a slice of the music from a tape that was Top Buzz at The Roadmender for eSp Supernova around 1991. Growing up in Milton Keynes, then the home of the new wave of rave in the warehouse concept. Collecting flyers as a 10–11-year-old lad, stumbled into World Beats in Wolverton, Milton Keynes. Where I 1st got a taste of decks, watching a Dj called Picci who worked in the shop. I was amazed stood there watching this wizardry on some turntables, I had no idea what he was doing, but right there and then a passion was born to me. I would spend many hours in there watching in awe, Picci started giving me tapes and stuff to listen to Dougal at Dreamscape 3. I can still remember the tape, was a single white tape with an old ticket used as a insert. Was hooked from this day forward. I used to go skating with my older brother at Rollers, and remember The Sanctuary being built and speaking to the guys there one day, telling me it was going to be a music venue. Who would have thought years later I’d be attending events there, as music venue was to me Milton Keynes bowl with concerts there.
