Diane in Blue

DIANE IN BLUE is an electronic and trip hop project that explores emotion, atmosphere and storytelling. In it, trip hop, dream pop, downtempo and experimental electronics come together in songs with distant vocals, hazy layers, hypnotic rhythms and heavy basslines. They sound a little unreal, nocturnal and intimate. DIANE IN BLUE takes inspiration from artists like The Cure, Tricky, Portishead and Massive Attack. And just as much from dream imagery, film scores, and the sense that some places, though familiar, are slightly wrong. This isn't a project about polished perfection. Rather, it's about mood, space and texture in the songs. They might well sound like a scene from a half-remembered film, a late-night conversation or a memory. On July 31 2026, DIANE IN BLUE released its first EP, "Before the Morning Finds Us." Tracks on it, including "Blacklit Habit," "Famous for the Exit" and "Pardon Me, But Your Teeth Are in My Neck," touch on emotional distance, desire, insomnia, isolation and those twilight hours between night and morning. And in much the same way, so does the visual world of DIANE IN BLUE. Here we might find empty rooms, nocturnal streets, dreamlike interiors, cold blue light and images that could easily come from a noir movie, a sense of romantic sadness or underlying unease. DIANE IN BLUE is a DIY project. In it, experimentation, music and visual storytelling all exist in the same world.
