Biography & Metadata

El Khatib is a Dutch Afro House producer and DJ with Moroccan roots. His sound blends traditional African rhythms, Arabic vocals, and modern electronic production into deep, percussive grooves with a melodic and spiritual edge. With over 20 years of experience in the electronic music scene - first as a club owner and later as a manager for A-list artists - Hatim El Khatib decided to explore his passion for producing. Instead of releasing on other labels, he founded his own imprint, Makemba Music (meaning “Freedom”), where art and music come together under his creative vision. Today, El Khatib is emerging as one of the most promising new voices in the global Afro House community. His music is gaining momentum worldwide, driven by the viral success of Akenza on TikTok with over 10,000 recreations, his powerful collaboration Sound of Freedom with Roland Clark, and consistent playlist support from Spotify, including placements in Mint Arabia and Tantra. With a rapidly growing audience across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond, El Khatib continues to solidify his place as a rising force in the genre.
