Biography & Metadata
Francesco Giampaoli is a musician, composer and producer from Lido di Dante, Italy. His main instruments are bass and double bass, on records he has played a bit of everything. He finds inspiration in the work of artists apparently distant from each other, from Duke Ellington to Lou Reed, from Mulatu Astatke to Paolo Conte. In 2009 he founded the record label “Brutture Moderne” with Andrea Scardovi. He has released three solo albums: “A Caso” 2010. “Mi sposto” 2011, “Danza del ventre” 2013. With Lanfranco Moder Vicari “Il volo - La ballata dei picchettini”. He is part of the bands: Hugo Race Fatalists - Classica Orchestra Afrobeat - Manuel Pistacchio – Sacri Cuori - GDG Modern Trio, Opez. He recorded the soundtrack of the film “Zoran, il mio nipote scemo” with Sacri Cuori at his Al Mare Studio. He wrote and performed the music for the shows: “Trebbi” in 2014 - “Il Volo” in 2015 - “I Fatti, l’aria infiammabile delle paludi” in 2018, “Mille anni o giù di lì” in 2020, “Mantiq At-Tayr Il verbo degli uccelli” 2023, “Panchatantra, o le mirabolanti avventure di Kalila and Dimna” 2024. Soundtrack of the film “Upwelling - La Risalita dalle acque profonde” 2016. He has toured and recorded with Richard Buckner, Hugo Race, Dan Stuart, Sacri Cuori, Robyn Hitchock, Howe Gelb, Marc Ribot, David Hidalgo, Seun Kuti, Rokia Traorè, Jim Keltner, Bob Moses, Sekouba Bambino, Baba Sissoko, JD Foster, Giorgio Conte, Nada Malanima, Marianne Mirage, Marquis, Timber Timbre, Koralle
