Biography & Metadata
Steven Winton writes the kind of songs that sound like they’ve already been played in a pub at closing time: big, direct, built for singing along. Aberdeen-raised and well-travelled, he spent two decades fronting bands (Fridge Magnets, Kashmir Red) before stepping out solo, bringing a road-tested, unpolished edge to his songwriting. He doesn’t stick to one genre; the sound goes wherever the mood takes it, from the Oasis and Sam Fender-leaning rock of 2024’s “Outlaws” to the pop-country turn of new single “Wee Small Hours.” One thing stays constant: a big, guaranteed sing-along chorus.
