Penny Deluxe

Penny Deluxe is a power pop rock band from Sydney, blending classic rock energy with modern hooks and big melodic moments. Their songs are built on vibrant instrumentation, honest and playful lyrics, and a love for the craft of songwriting, but never at the expense of having fun along the way. After years playing in cover bands, Adrian Vaughan (guitar/vocals), Paul Sommer (keys/vocals), and Andrew Mansfield formed Penny Deluxe to focus on original music. Since then, they’ve independently released ten tracks, earned growing radio play, and made their live debut as grand finalists in the 2024 Bucketty's Battle of the Bands. They were also featured in a full interview and segment on Radio Northern Beaches. Their latest release, Castaway Hearts (out 19 September), is inspired by the imagery and vibe of Sydney's Northern Beaches. It’s a musical nod to artists like James Reyne and Australian Crawl, who paint vivid pictures through storytelling and texture. “Castaway Hearts captures exactly what we set out to do as a band. It’s nostalgic, melodic, and full of heart. We’re proud of what it represents,” says Paul Sommer. Penny Deluxe is now writing new material and preparing to take their high-energy, no-pressure live show on the road.
