Essex duo Jake Hicks and Jack Pike (Hillsdom) run an influential UK D&B operation. They founded their sound on live drums and guitar. Their career launched with a strict "doing it the old way" philosophy, focusing on production quality over spamming the scene. Their debut, 'Lucid Dreams' took three years to finish, but hit the ground running! Their sound is certified: it fuses Liquid Funk soul with Technical Rollers weight, praised as "simultaneously elegant and heavy". 'Lucid Dreams feat. Novokane' drives their catalogue past 8.5 million streams. After launching on UKF's Pilot, they earned support from UKF tastemakers and Viper Recordings co-founder Futurebound. They released 'Second Nature on a UKF compilation, tunes on Viper (like 'Nocturne / Urban 64'), and Fauxtopia / Gaslight singles on the Ram Records and Tell Me Your Lies / Stone Soul Program label. Their tracks get spun by the biggest names, including Andy C, Friction, Metrik, Hybrid Minds, , Fred V, BCee, Sleepnet, Matrix & Futurebound , T.R.A.C., Random Movement Noisia's Vision Radio. Hillsdom returned in 2025, building momentum with singles 'Jynx', 'Restless', and 'Say No More. This run culminated in the 'Restless EP' on Soulvent (feat. Charlotte X) and 'Say What's On Your Mind' featured on the legendary Spearhead Records 20th Anniversary album. These releases prove the duo continues to define the nexus where liquid soul meets rollers muscle.
