Biography & Metadata
“A storyteller with the power of a demolition crew.” Pick Up Goliath writes and produces concept-driven metal built on narrative, structure, and precision. Blending modern heaviness with cinematic scale, his releases are designed as complete works, not collections of songs. His forthcoming release, Salt & Static, explores men’s mental health as a collision between body and mind, where “salt” reflects physical strain and “static” captures intrusive thoughts and emotional noise. The first single, Hope is a Hell of a Drug, has been described as “metal with energy, a conscience, and a painful bruise,” marking his most exposed work to date. Prior to this, Artificial Ascendency established him as a distinctive voice in modern metal. The award-winning four-movement metal symphony, featuring Josh Baines and Mike Malyan, merges classical structure with modern intensity to chart humanity’s rise, collapse, and reckoning. His previous record, Cult of the Lamb: Hymns of the Unholy, is also a multi-award-winning, widely acclaimed release, featuring Howard Jones, Matthew K. Heafy, and more. Alongside his artistic work, he runs Mammoth Sound Studio, a Dolby Atmos-certified facility in Spain, producing for artists worldwide. He previously taught songwriting and production at The BRIT School, helping shape artists such as RAYE, Olivia Dean, Rex Orange County, Lola Young, Cat Burns, black midi, and more. Pick Up Goliath is not here to follow trends. He is here to move metal forward.
