Egertton, originally named Ikponmwonba Osaze Egertton, hails from Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. His artistic journey is deeply rooted in his vibrant hometown and his late uncle, a respected professor, after whom he was named. Since entering the music industry, Egertton’s work consistently reflects the essence of Benin City. Known for his energetic and raw experimental sound, Egertton has coined a distinctive sonic identity that commands attention. Initially bold, he has gradually gained appreciation as he continues to push the boundaries of his sound. In 2025, Egertton released the bounce track “Oh Benita!” marking the start of a new era in his career. This was followed by his proclamation with the track “DIAMONDSS.” His release “Issokayy” gained significant traction on social media, further cementing his presence in the music scene. Egertton also collaborated with Scottyolorin on the fan-favorite track “MOLADE.” He has released two othersongs, “Sunmomi” and “Press Am,” a collaboration with popular underground artist ARTSALGHUL.
