Before stepping into electronic music production, he spent years playing drums, which naturally shaped his instinctive sense of groove and dynamic flow. In 2018, a year living in Berlin became a creative turning point. Immersed in the city’s vibrant electronic music scene, Matwil absorbed the soundscapes that now define his music. After moving back to Helsinki, he has continued to craft his sound, making his tracks fuse percussive detail with deep, melodic storytelling. His releases have consistently gained recognition on Beatport — Solaris, Between the Worlds and Closer Than We Know all charting in the Top 100 Melodic House & Techno Releases. His track Between the Worlds also received support from Korolova, establishing him as a rising name to watch in the electronic music scene.
