Biography & Metadata
One of the defining figures of Manchester’s grime scene, Bugzy Malone emerged in the 2010s as the first successful grime MC from the city, establishing himself through rapid, precise delivery, hard-hitting storytelling and personal lyricism. Citing 2Pac as his biggest influence, his music explores ambition, adversity, loyalty and emotional struggle, alongside the realities of his upbringing. Born Aaron Davies in Manchester in 1990, Bugzy Malone turned his life around after a difficult adolescence, finding discipline through boxing while developing his music career. Following early mixtapes, his breakthrough came with acclaimed EPs including Facing Time and King of the North, before his debut album B. Inspired reached No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart and achieved Silver certification. His rise continued with 2021’s The Resurrection, which peaked at No. 7 in the UK, cementing his position as one of the UK’s most successful independent artists. His catalogue includes multiple UK Top 10 albums and collaborations with Dizzee Rascal, Dermot Kennedy, Aitch, Chase & Status and Chip. Beyond music, Bugzy has built a creative profile through acting, appearing in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen and Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, alongside Jason Statham, Hugh Grant and Aubrey Plaza. He has also expanded into business and lifestyle ventures, including his House of Vision fragrance line.
