Yuri Lima is the producer behind Phased — a piano graduate and multi-instrumentalist whose path into techno began inside the worldwide peak-time circuit. Over several years, the project built a catalog across some of the scene's key labels, earning support from respected names within the techno community along the way, and using those releases to establish a name inside a system built on exposure and repetition. That system eventually ran its course. Peak-time asked for consistency — the same drops, the same rooms, the same expectations, release after release. Phased stepped back, relocated to Berlin, and started over: trading spectacle for something rawer. The sound now leans into hardgroove — distorted low end, metallic percussion, vocal chops used as texture rather than melody, built for physical rooms rather than main stages. The reinvention isn't cosmetic. It's a rejection of the idea that an artist has to stay inside one lane. Phased moves between rawer, more experimental territory and the discipline of years spent producing for peak-time — using that background as a toolkit, not a formula to repeat. No fixed genre, no single reference point — just the same instinct for rhythm that built the earlier catalog, now aimed underground.
