Biography & Metadata

DEAD STAR TALK make widescreen alternative rock built on melody, atmosphere and the tension between light and dark. Formed in 2020, the Danish-German four-piece centres around the contrasting voices and guitars of Christian Holl Buhl and Günes Svarre Kocak, backed by Erik Ottar Jensen on bass and Claus Nielsen on drums. Christian’s deeper, huskier vocal and Günes’ lighter, almost weightless delivery give the band its distinctive dual-voice identity. Their third album, Now Then Always Forever / Forever Always Then Now, is their most ambitious project yet: one album, 20 songs, released across a twelve-month campaign before arriving in full on 26 March 2027. Recorded with legendary producer Flemming Rasmussen at Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, the album pushes the band’s sound further into indie rock, alternative, shoegaze and expansive guitar pop. Almost 30 different guitars were used across the sessions, occasionally joined by Turkish saz, creating a record that moves between intimacy, distortion, melancholy and widescreen release. Songs such as “Outta Luck,” “Don’t Stop Tonight” and “Saint & Sin” reveal different sides of the same world: restless, melodic, reflective and increasingly cinematic. One album. Twenty songs. Twelve months.
