Born and raised in London, the accompanying sounds of pirate radio had a transformative impact on Joel Marlow's music. Involved in Grime as the scene started to pick up pace in 2006, Joel spent time behind the mic and turntables. He soon turned his hand to producing, with his music featured on Rinse FM amongst other stations. Kameek's dedication to his craft led him to spend a number of years as an unpaid intern, honing his skills as a sound engineer and producer at renowned studios like Mute Records and Red Bull Studios London. This relentless pursuit of perfection allowed him to transform the melodies in his mind into energetic, finely-tuned compositions. In 2019, Kameek took the leap and unveiled his distinctive sound to the world. The debut single, "Selfish," made an electrifying entrance, soaring straight to the number one position of the global Beatport Garage chart. It was a triumph that resonated far beyond the UK, a testament to the universal appeal of Kameek's music.
