Laura Anglade

New York-based vocalist Laura Anglade has long been rooted in the Great American Songbook, but her upcoming album; “Something’s Coming” expands that language into something more theatrical, textured, and emotionally open. Anglade is entering what she describes as “a new era of my artistry,” one shaped by the feeling of being “on the brink of something I can’t quite name yet.” Anglade is pushing further into her range as a performer. “I find myself taking more risks,” she says. “I am more experimental and can stretch more, testing the limits.” That shift is palpable in the latest singles. Musical theater sits at the heart of the project. “I grew up with it,” Anglade says. “I was a theater kid. I never got the lead role. This feels like getting to step into those roles now.” Rather than approaching these songs as fixed standards, she inhabits them as characters, scenes, and emotional landscapes. Something’s Coming arrives after a milestone year for Anglade, whose 2025 album Get Out of Town won Vocal Jazz Album of the Year at the 2026 JUNO Awards. She also reached broader audiences with performances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s #LateShowMeMusic and The Kelly Clarkson Show. Rather than treating that momentum as a finish line, this release opens the door to a broader, more theatrical chapter of her work.
