A musical shapeshifter, he performed with Miles Davis & Freddie Hubbard in his 20s, and has performed with Dianne Reeves, Christian McBride, Chaka Khan, A.R. Rahman, Chucho Valdés, and Steely Dan. Beasley’s recordings MONK’estra trilogy, Bird Lives, Returning to Forever, El Trio, Maria Mendes, and Positootly! have earned recognition as a composer, arranger & producer. He is Music Director for Herbie Hancock Jazz Institute global gala concerts and earned an Emmy :Jazz at the White House" In 2026, Beasley will mark the centennials of Miles Davis and John Coltrane through five major projects, including Unlimited Miles is his sextet that is a 14-city global tour, a live album, and a concert film. He will also collaborate with Marcus Miller to reimagine Tutu & Amandla for the Metropole Orkest.
