Phil Berg

Based in Berlin, Phil Berg approaches contemporary techno with a clear vision, defined by a steady devotion to craft and deep, hypnotic impact. Since making his official production debut and stepping onto the international DJ circuit in 2020, his work has balanced two distinct instincts: surgical, atmospheric precision on one side, and peaky, raw intensity on the other. His relationship with electronic music started at home. Introduced to electronic roots music by his father, Berg was already DJing various dance music genres by age 14 before discovering his true calling in techno. Today, his studio workflow is entirely digital. Rather than collecting rooms full of hardware, he focuses on a stripped-back setup, squeezing maximum detail, weight, and clarity out of a minimal toolkit. That focus runs through his releases. EPs on SK_eleven and Phorum established his core sound, while his release on SHDW’s Mutual Rytm label has picked up steady support across the scene. As a resident DJ for Vault Sessions, Berg showcases an expansive side of techno, leaning into patient, long-form storytelling. In contrast, 2025 marked the launch of his live performance, translating peak-time material into a direct, physical stage show. He brings this work to dance floors worldwide, including Bassiani, Basement, Tresor, RSO, Radion, BRET, Vent, and FOLD, keeping the priority strictly on raw energy, hypnotic depth, and commitment to the floor.
