Biography & Metadata
New Arcades are a London-based Synthwave/Retrowave duo creating emotionally charged electronic music inspired by the sounds, film scores and synth-driven music of the 1980s. The band consists of Dean Canty and Adam Sullivan, who combine those retro influences with modern production to create their unique and nostalgic sound. Since their debut album, Returning Home, they’ve released several follow ups, including In The Deepest of Dreams, Leave Something Behind and Through Desolation. Each album exploring different moods and sounds while retaining their synth-based roots at the heart of the project. In 2023, the duo composed the theme for RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop, a documentary exploring the making and legacy of the classic sci-fi film. Their latest album, A Night To Reflect, was released in the summer of 2026, a record that showcased a more chilled and atmospheric sound; built around the idea of a single summer night, from sunset to sunrise. The concept of the album album was conceived as the soundtrack to an 80’s movie that was never made. Alongside their studio work, New Arcades are known for live performances that combine their music with immersive visuals and carefully designed sound. Continuing to explore new ideas while remaining rooted in their love of synth-driven music, New Arcades are building a body of work shaped by nostalgia, atmosphere and a desire to progress with each record they release.
