HIJINX

HIJINX is the Bristol-based alias of producer Kyle Smith, a project born from a desire for creative freedom and deeper sonic exploration. Unbound by genre, his music moves fluidly through 2-step, garage, dubstep, and techno, forming a dark, expressive sound rooted in the UK underground. After establishing himself in the scene under his former alias Mr.K, Smith re-emerged as HIJINX with a renewed vision, signing to Alix Perez’s 1985 Music and releasing the acclaimed Macabre EP, earning him a spot on DJ Mag’s “Artists to Watch 2024.” In 2025, he continued his ascent with a release on Ivy Lab’s 20/20 London imprint. Alongside his releases, he runs his own label Fortune and hosts a monthly show on Bristol’s SWU FM, positioning HIJINX as one of the UK’s most forward-thinking and boundary-pushing underground artists.
