Biography & Metadata

I'm Daniel Stoker, born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. I taught myself piano and guitar as a kid, and I've been writing songs (melodies, lyrics, chord progressions, all of it) for over 30 years. Writing has always been the part I love, performing was never the draw for me. In 2019, a severe respiratory infection left permanent scar tissue in my throat and ears. My hearing was affected, and my singing voice has been reduced to a shadow of what it used to be. I still write, I still compose at the piano and guitar, but I haven't been able to record a production-worthy vocal on one of my own songs since. So I've turned to AI to fix my vocals or replace them. I DO NOT use AI to write my music or lyrics. Every melody, every lyric, every chord progression is mine and preserved, not altered, the way it's always been written, by my hand, my ear, my voice, my mind, my heart. AI is only used to help perform what I'm now not capable of, the way a session singer would if I had one on call. I stay hands-on with the production. I'll direct the AI down to specifics, how much reverb, what vocal style, etc., and it often takes hundreds of passes per song, spliced together in Logic, before it sounds to my style and writing. I'd still much rather hear these songs sung by real artists, and hoping these albums, with different genres and vocal styles, find their way to performers, producers, and labels who want to take it further. If that's you, reach out. And thank you for listening.
