Henrique Mota

Henrique Mota is a Brazilian pianist and composer, holding a degree in Classical Piano from Fundação das Artes in São Caetano do Sul, Brazil. His work moves between jazz, Brazilian instrumental music, and fusion, combining diverse influences and artistic formats. Throughout his career, Henrique has performed and recorded with renowned artists such as Toninho Horta, Bob Mintzer, David Binney, Rachel Therrien, Bob Franceschini, Seamus Blake, Tony Lakatos, Filó Machado, Celso Pixinga, Thiago Espírito Santo,Nuno Mindelis ,and among others. As both a bandleader and sideman, he has performed at major jazz and blues festivals in Brazil and around the world. In 2024, he was part of the inaugural edition of São Paulo Jazz Weekend, sharing the lineup with artists such as Dianne Reeves, Shai Maestro, Yamandu Costa, Scott Kinsey, and Arismar do Espírito Santo. His international work includes an established presence in China with the HII Trio, with more than 20 performances across different cities and appearances at major venues, including the iconic Blue Note Beijing. In 2026, the trio also embarked on a European tour, highlighted by a performance at the Bansko Jazz Festival in Bulgaria. Also in 2026, Henrique presents a concert for piano and orchestra in Torino, Italy, as part of the SERMIG project, bringing his original musical language closer to the symphonic world. Henrique Mota develops an artistic body of work that connects contemporary jazz with Brazilian instrumental music.
