Biography & Metadata
Nashville’s JD Simo is an oft-called-upon guitar picker of high accord. With a session roster boasting icons like Bruce Springsteen, Dolly Parton, Jack White, Beyoncé, Dave Cobb, James McCartney (including his father Paul), Cody Johnson, Charlie Pride, John Prine, Chris Isaak, Tommy Emmanuel, Kid Rock, and contributing guitar to the Baz Luhrmann biopic ELVIS and his ELVIS documentary film EPIC. As well as producing and session credits with current talents like Jay Buchanan, Ghalia Volt, Duane Betts, War and Treaty, Kirk Fletcher, and Patrick Sweany among many others. He also finds time for a storied solo career with a host of talented friends. Most frequent being his collaboration with the North Mississippi All Stars front man Luther Dickinson. Which yielded a Billboard top ten Blues album “Do The Rump” in 2024. His new “The Muse” collection of two new songs finds him in his home bunker studio, affectionately dubbed ‘The House of Grease’ with his musical soul mate Adam Abrashoff. One of Music City’s most treasured drummers. Showcasing an immaculate display of American Roots Music. Elements of Jazz, Blues, and Bluegrass whirl around Psych Rock and Hypnotic Afro Beat rhythms. It is a snapshot of one of the world’s premier stylists at the peak of his powers.
