Danilo Ruggero

Danilo Ruggero does not like to define himself or to be defined as a songwriter, a musician or an artist. He doesn't sleep enough, absorbed by his emotional idiosyncrasies and, in his spare time, he writes songs, ruminates and broods - perhaps in that order. He puts words on paper that he tries to communicate through an untrained singing voice and a small guitar hammered by an inexperienced hand. He writes a lot, more than necessary. In fact, he regularly rejects thousands of thoughts and he talks even less, as a consequence. He speaks only if asked, preferring to write, note and rarely reorganise the bottom corner of the puzzle to compose a song. It happens to write in dialect, which is a more deep and intimate way of communication, especially when his head needs to go back home, in Pantelleria, between Africa and Sicily.
