Earl Major

Born 05.24.2097 in Rock Island, Illinois; Earl Major is the pseudonym for music producer and vocalist Brandon Johnson. Through an eclectic upbringing via living in Europe at the age of 4, moving to North Dakota at the age of 9, and Colorado by age 20; Brandon now resides in Iowa where he continues to create independent music. Deriving from the name EarlyMajority, Earl Major found its roots in 2013 when Brandon was producing genres of music ranging from Dubstep to Hip-Hop and Pop under the name Herizen. Growing his skill set with bootleg remixes resulting in several SoundCloud accounts being taken down, Major’s first major streaming releases began in 2019 with the Horizon EP, a nod to the prior 6 year’s work as Herizen. Finding success in streaming by producing chill instrumental music, tracks “As if I gave a…”, “Candy”, and “Put the Money in the Bag” began spreading through user-generated Spotify playlists. Striving to release music with his vocals, Brandon followed these releases with “Life’s A Beach” and “Ivory EP” in 2020. Major’s debut album Outbreak ‘87, made during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlights his vision by creating a “novel” approach to tell a sci-fi story line throughout 12 songs. Gen V, VI, and 7 continue this storyline. Now, Major strives to continue releasing authentic music each week as an outlet for self expression.
