Biography & Metadata
As lead singer and songwriter of LA surf-psych icons The Growlers, Brooks Nielsen helped create a cult genre of one: Beach Goth. With his unmistakable voice and vivid storytelling, Nielsen has become one of indie rock’s most distinctive frontmen. Now stepping further into his solo era, Nielsen’s new album Grain of Dirt cements his evolution—mixing raw honesty with the groove-driven spirit fans have loved since The Growlers began. Alongside recent releases like A Ride I'm Waiting For, The Circle, Psycho & John Jones, Chinese Fountain Live, and One Match Left, Grain of Dirt shows Nielsen carrying the Beach Goth flame into bold new territory.
